Security Camera Captures Image of Person of Interest in Shooting of 4-year-old Boy

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) — Police in Shreveport are sharing surveillance images in an effort to find the person or people who shot a 4-year-old boy.

On Saturday, January, just before noon, the child was hit by gunfire. 7 while playing on a playground in the 2900 block of Peach Street.

According to the authorities, two groups of people got into a fight and then started shooting at one another.

A bullet entered the child’s body below the waist. He was taken to Ochsners LSU Health for treatment of wounds that weren’t thought to be life-threatening, according to the authorities.

Detectives who specialize in violent crimes were able to view security camera footage of a potential suspect during their investigation. Now images from that video are being released to the public “… in hopes of identifying the person responsible for this heinous offense,” says a statement 9 January from the police.
