iPhone 15 Pro Max First Impressions: Lights, Camera, Action Button

Apple’s iPhone 15 event today saw the company spend a lot of time (and money) talking about its “Apple 2030” vision for carbon neutrality and environmental responsibility. Ironically, Apple wants you to purchase more iPhones, so it keeps releasing new models with marginally different features to get you to part with your cash.

Apple is starting to comply with EU regulations that require all new devices made by the end of next year support USB-C charging with the release of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro this year. While most people will find that to be good news, it does mean that those who might not already have a compatible wire will need to purchase a new charger.

Furthermore to the new port (goodbye, Lightning!), the iPhone 15 A tetraprism system gives Pro Max a zooming lens, and a so-called “Action button” takes the place of the side-mounted slider switch.

We’re also saying goodbye to the notch on the base iPhone 15 and 15 Plus and saying hello to the Dynamic Island. It appears that we are letting go of a lot of the past with the iPhone 15 series, hopefully in favor of better things.
