Security Camera Footage Leads to Arrest of Two Burglary Suspects

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, security camera footage of a man and woman breaking into a house on Highway 36 in August helped lead to their arrest later that month.

On August 18, 2023, a home near Cheshire was reportedly broken into, according to the LCSO. Before the cameras were turned off, a man and woman were seen in security camera footage entering the house, according to the authorities. The property that was taken from the house, according to the deputies, was worth more than $2,000.

According to representatives of the Lane County sheriff’s office, Mathis Raymond Lambert, 38, and Kristin Dawn Hiatt, 44, were recognized as the suspects from the video. Authorities claimed that on August 28, a deputy discovered Lambert and Hiatt inside a car. The deputy detained Lambert and Hiatt during a traffic stop, took them to the Lane County Jail, and then arrested them.

In Lambert and Hiatt’s home, which was the subject of a search warrant obtained by LCSO detectives, additional evidence, including proof of unrelated identity theft, was discovered, according to the authorities. As of September 5, Lambert and Hiatt were both being held in custody, according to jail records.
