The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to FOX 11 on Wednesday that the woman who was seen on surveillance footage assaulting a taco vendor in Watts after the woman allegedly refused to pay for her food is now in custody.
Just after 6:30 o’clock in the evening the incident occurred at Ortiz Tacos. on Sunday, August 6: According to the taco vendor, Renee Latrice Hines, 36, refused to pay for her tacos and reacted violently when confronted.
A worker at the stand allegedly received a punch and pepper spray from the woman, according to investigators. Someone then began recording the incident.
Video showed the woman getting even angrier, reaching over the stand and hitting the worker more, and even grabbing the sign in front of the stand and threw it at the person filming her, before driving away in a purple Lexus.
